OPERAtunities “Na ‘Uhane: Stories of Hawaii” a Youth Opera

OPERAtunities “Na ‘Uhane” presented by the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus.  Paliku Theater at the Windward Community College Campus in Kaneohe.   1 act 5 scene, orchestrated opera composed by Herb Mahelona, jr. and conducted by Aaron Mahi.   Based on a collection of Hawaiian stories and commissioned in 1998.  All roles sung and acted by youth participant members.  Performances are the culmination of a 3-week summer intensive youth opera training program for students grades 4 – 12.  Come see the up and coming Opera stars of Hawaii.  Just a 20 minute short drive over the Koolau.
